Best things to do in Ninh Binh

Which sightseeing tourist should visit in Ninh Binh?

There are many attractive destinations in Ninh Binh which I can’t recommend enough. It is an oasis for nature lovers. Vietnam first capital established here, and today the area is a protected UNESCO World Heritage Site, full of mossy pagodas, striking limestone karsts, and surreal landscapes. Below are my suggestions for sightseeing.

Trang An Complex

Proudly, Trang An Complex is a mysterious natural and cultural area, not affected by human activities. This destination is listed on world UNESCO heritage. There are the pristine forests, the clear lakes, rivers and streams, the fresh air, the quiet villages and only sound and colors of nature. Visitors to Trang An will experience the feeling of going back in time to the golden beauty of Vietnam history, immersing themselves in traditional spiritual culture, or floating on small boats that are popular with locals, contemplating strange rocks and caves, enjoying a pure atmosphere, experiencing each level of emotions and exploring the distant roots of human life.

Hoa Lu Ancient Capital

Hoa Lu Ancient Capital is the capital of an ancient Vietnamese Kingdom called Dai Co Viet in the 10th century. This small Kingdom covered an area of only 300 hectares, and reigned from the 10th century, during the Dinh and Le dynasties, to the 11th century, during the Ly Dynasty. The Kingdom was enclosed by a citadel. The citadel and the Yen Ngua limestone hills provided a good defence for this kingdom against the Chinese.

Bai Dinh Pagoda

Bai Dinh Pagoda is a spiritual landscape located in the complex of Bai Dinh – Trang An eco-tourism area with a history of more than 1000 years associated with the land of many feudal dynasties from Dinh, Tien, Le and Ly Dynasty.
Not only do the marvelous sceneries make you dote on it, it also elicits a precious land with ancient historical relics of ancient Vietnam which is the second thing you should know. Bai Dinh Padoda includes both of majestic sceneries and spirit values. This is the largest spiritual pagoda in Viet Nam and one of the must-see places in Ninh Binh.

Bich Dong Pagoda

It is one of the most magnificent grottos in Vietnam, the Bich Dong pagoda is a spot of natural beauty in the Northern provinces. This cave contributes to spiritual tourism development due to its pagodas inside the cave, like other Ninh Binh caves. A 3-kilometer distance to the east of Tam Coc, Bich Dong pagoda, literally the pagoda of Emerald Cave, is situated in the Truong Yen range. Truong Yen range lies in the valley of rice paddy fields and leans on Bich Dong mountain. The only route to get to the pagoda is to step into the steep stone but what is waiting for you is definitely worth visiting.

Cuc Phuong National Park

It is Vietnam’s largest national park and one of the most important biodiversity sites in the country. It is home to hundreds of species of flora and fauna. The park can be visited from Hanoi as a day trip or visitors can stay at the park’s lodgings for a longer stay. Visiting the park is a terrific opportunity to get a close look at Vietnam’s nature. Fees generated from tourism help protect the parks wildlife and improve the local economy.
